Ted has begun work on Alexa Sasha-Lewin's (AFI Directing Workshop for Women) THE HONEYSTING. He will begin scoring John Murlowski's next project, an untitled feature-length thriller for Mar Vista Entertainment, in October.

Ted is currently teaching musicianship, composition and filmscoring at the Walden School, a 5-week intensive program for young composers, in Dublin, NH. He will return to Los Angeles in mid-August.

Ted has written additional music for Bob McFalls' HOMEGROWN. The documentary chronicles a modern "Little House on the Prairie" - the Devries family of Pasadena, CA, growing 6,000 lbs. of organic produce on their 1/5 acre lot, living "off the grid". A great project, which will be screening at the Walter Reade Theater in Lincoln Center in early November.

Ted has completed the music to MarVista Entertainment's COP DOG.
He will be working with John Murlowski in the fall on an untitled thriller, full-length feature.

Ted will be scoring MarVista Entertainment's MARLOWE, a heartwarming story of a boy and his dog. Ted will begin working on the score in early April. He is currently finishing up the score to Roman Mykytyn's SHOWMAN.

Ted recently completed the score to John Irwin's short film, BANDITOS, a contemporary take on the Urban Western.

Ted's score for John Salcido's BILL has been recorded and mixed. All the work was done on premises at the Burnley Complex. Ted will participating in the dub at Todd-AO later this week. Selections from the score for BILL.

In preparation for his upcoming move to Los
Angeles, Ted is writing 3 cues for a demo session with a 70-piece
A-list orchestra, to be recorded at Fox's Newman Scoring stage
in July. The three cues range in emotion and scope
from heroic to sentimental to horror/suspense.

Scoring Workshop (including a recording session with A list
musicians at Fox's soundstage), Ted has been named the inaugural
recipient of the ASCAP Steve Kaplan Award for "excellence,
professionalism, musical ability and career potential."

Ted has been named Associate Director of the
San Francisco Conservatory's
High School Choral Academy. In the two-week festival's inaugural
season, Ted will be teaching musicianship and conducting ensembles.
The festival culminates in a performance on Thursday, July
1 at Hellman Hall.

Ted has been selected to participate in the
ASCAP
Film Scoring Workshop. A jury of leading film composers
selected the 15 participants from over 300 submissions, choosing
among applicants from across the country and from as far away
as Japan, Australia, Israel, Italy and Russia.

Ted has finished assisting composer Mark
Winges on a project for the 25th anniversary of
Volti. This renowned vocal ensemble is dedicated
to the "discovery, creation, and performance of new vocal
music."

Ted recently completed the score for It's
Just The Start, a video for the city of Vallejo focusing
on resource education. This music is based in the same Hip-Hop
and World influences found in Ted's recent score for Mission:
Recycle. Ted has also recently written and recorded additional
score for Christmas Tree Blues.

Recycle, is complete. The score draws from Hip-Hop and
World influences to create an edgy, urban sound. Look for
the companion project for the ciy of Vallejo, It's Just
The Start, sometime early next year.

Side
Unseen had its San Francisco premiere last
night. Choreographer Irva Hertz-Piccioto has plans to turn
the piece into a larger work. Stay tuned . . .
There are also plans for a performance of Structures
of San Francisco Weather (for soprano, clarinet and piano)
next spring at the Eastman School of Music.

In association with choreographer Irva Hertz-Picciotto,
Ted has written the music for the Side
Unseen project. The piece - for wordless
voice, clarinet and percussion - is a reflection on consciousness
& visibility in the Iraeli-Palestinian conflict. The world
premiere will be this Friday, September 12th at UC Davis.
The San Francisco premiere will be at the Dance
Mission Theatre (3316-24th St., @ Mission) on November
7th and 8th.

Ted has completed the score for Christmas
Tree Blues, a dark comedy in which romance saves
a hapless Christmas tree from Yuletide torture. This film
by LA director Kevin Abrams will hit the festival circuit
sometime next year.

Ted has completed the score to So
They May Speak, a documentary about bilingual education
in the United States. The film focuses on language education
in three separate communities: French in rural Louisiana,
Khmer in the Cambodian community of Fresno, CA and a multi-lingual
program in El Paso, Texas. The film was produced by Ideas
in Motion (Berkeley, CA) and funded by
the Annie E. Casey and Rockefeller Foundations.

Luther Greene’s film about San Francisco
in the early 20th century is deep in the editing stages. Ted
has arranged and produced source music for the project based
on The Land of Happiness, an opera premiered in San
Francisco in 1925.

In association with Ideas in Motion, Ted recently
completed the score to Going
To The Source, a documentary focusing on source reduction
in California. The music for this project draws from minimalist
influences.

Look for a 30-second spot for the Alameda County
STOP WASTE campaign
on KQED in the next few weeks. The quirky, circus-like music
was composed by Ted Masur at ScoreDesign.

Brass Quintet coached Julliard students in a performance
of Ted’s Lullabies & Labors at the American
Brass Quintet Seminar (Juilliard School, Manhattan).

Bryan Armstrong has commissioned Ted to write a piece for
solo piano. Mr. Armstrong was the featured soloist in master
classes with Leon Fleischer at the Aspen Music Festival last
summer.
